Automobiles in Germany's Town Discovered Marked with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Police mentioned they were contacted by a resident who noticed a car in Hanau marked with reddish fluid

Around 50 cars have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to police.

Vehicles, building surfaces and postal boxes were vandalized, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they stated in a statement.

Law enforcement report they were alerted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a man discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored liquid.

The liquid had been drawn in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Law enforcement then located many other marked vehicles and house walls in the surrounding area.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under legislation prohibiting the public display of Nazi-era symbols.

Law enforcement say initial examinations suggest the fluid was probably human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no lead as to where it came from; officials are currently not cognizant of any injuries in relation with the incident," they added.

Local authorities stated they were trying "to unravel the case" and have appealed to the community for details.

An important official said the vandalism left him speechless and had to be solved quickly.

"This act hits the very heart of Hanau and revives the trauma of the far-right terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on social media, referring to the murder of nine individuals by a assailant focusing on residents of migrant background in five years prior.
